IHTM03175 - What is recorded on Form 402: status
The ‘O’ is pre-printed. When you first see the file and you should mark it ‘O(A)’ and date and date and initial this. The ‘O’(A)’ stands for open and active. When you close a file (IHTM39041) you will need to note the new file status in this box using the relevant marking (IHTM39002). You should initial and date the change. Registry staff should tick through the new marking when the change is noted on ALF (IHTM03291).
If you have to re-open the file for whatever reason then the file status should be changed to ‘O(A)’ again, and so on.
