IHTM03116 - What is recorded on Forms 400 and 401: review

This section is used to note progress review ( IHTM32041) dates on cases and future review dates when the file status is ‘O(F)’ ( IHTM39011).

When the file is first opened the person creating it will put a progress review date 7 months after the date the file was created in the box next to the ‘S’. This will be the date the file will next be reviewed ( IHTM32086) unless the case becomes an enquiry ( IHTM29011).

If an enquiry is taken up you should strike through the due date and write ‘ERS’ in the next box below and enter the next enquiry progress review date ( IHTM32060). This will be manually entered on ALF ( IHTM03291) by Registry staff.

When a file has been reviewed the reviewer should enter the next review date in the box below with an ‘S’ alongside if it is a progress review on an case or ‘ERS’ if the review is on an enquiry. There may be more than one review date entered in the review box if there is more than one open sub-file (Form 405 ( IHTM03141)) for the transferor. This is because each transfer under consideration at the file is treated separately for review purposes.

When the case or enquiry is closed you need to put either the destruction date ( IHTM39031) or if the file status ( IHTM39002) is ‘O(F)’ the review box should be marked ‘F’, ‘F(CT)’ or ‘F(DT)’ ( IHTM39011) with the date for reviewing the future claim.

If you have to re-open the file for whatever reason then you will need to enter a new review date in this column and continue as you would for a new file.
