Officers should always consider Health & Safety issues
prior to any visit and take appropriate action.
The Departmental guidance on Health & Safety is provided
within the HS series of guidance available on the intranet. All
officers and line managers have a responsibility to ensure that
they are not unduly placing themselves or their colleagues at risk.
Management commands should all have a current H&M risk
assessment. The potential risks faced by particular traders,
premises and potential planned assurance activity should be
considered as part of any pre- visit consideration.
