ECH3055 - ECTM Duties: Levels of Authority

It is essential that EC staff are aware of the correct levels of authority. The ECTM should

  • ensure their team are aware of when
  • to use their own discretion
  • reviews must be referred to the ECTM or the ECUM, for example in potential complaint cases
  • matters must be referred to other sections, for example status issues
  • letters must be approved by the ECTM or ECUM before issue, for example in penalty cases.

Signature of letters and forms

The ECTM is responsible for signing all

  • letters to employers or contractors which confirm open year instructions and
  • stock forms bearing the printed designation ‘ECTM’.

The ECTM may delegate this responsibility in the case of experienced ECOs.
