ECH3050 - ECTM Duties: Control of Working Reviews
The ECTM has overall responsibility for the progress of their teams' working reviews. To exercise effective control the ECTM should
- actively manage the work of the team, carrying out the prescribed progress chasing reviews on ECS
- ensure that all the reviews are being worked
- efficiently
- cost effectively
- along the correct lines and
- without undue delay
- help to keep the number of working reviews to a manageable level ECH3045
- encourage ECOs to discuss their reviews and seek advice when necessary.
Only in exceptional circumstances should an ECO continue to work
a review after transfer from the unit. Normally reviews should be
reallocated by the ECTM, immediately an ECO leaves the unit.
Reviews that are not worked correctly or suffer unreasonable
delay can encounter problems in
- moving things along if the employer is not co-operating
- supporting the imposition of penalties
- supporting the level of penalty and abatements awarded ( ECH21060)
