ECH7005 - Commencing the Compliance Check: Making the Initial Appointment or Contact
Once the manager has allocated and authorised a case on ECS
you or compliance support will issue
- factsheet EC/FS1 (reviewing your records) or EC/FS2 (in large cases) and EC/FS3 (what happens during and at the end of a check) to the employer/contractor (in all cases) and either
- the notification letter ECR105(Payroll Macro) or
- the notification letter ECR105 or
- an ECR105 (non-visit case)
to the employer/contractor.
Alternatively you can initially contact the
employer/contractor by telephone to make the arrangements. However
you must ensure that you confirm these arrangements immediately, by
issuing
- a suitably amended ECR105 confirming the arrangements
- the relevant factsheet(s), and
- note the commencement date on ECS as the date of the telephone call.
The ECR105 invites the employer/contractor to contact the EC team to make the necessary arrangements,
- a convenient time and date for the appointment and
- location and contact details for the visit.
- If the employer/contractor has an authorised agent then they should also be notified of the proposed visit ECH7006.
The factsheet explains to the employer/contractor the types of
records that you will need to see to undertake the compliance
check.
If the employer/contractor or agent refuses to attend a
meeting you should refer to (
ECH7111).
