ECH22570 - Yield Recording: Court Costs

Where it has been necessary to obtain a protective claim for National Insurance Contributions, court costs will have been incurred ( ECH22131). You must seek to recover the court costs (ECH22135)

  • as part of the contract settlement or
  • alongside a Section 8 decision for the National Insurance

The amount of court costs should be recorded as ‘additional charge’ on ECS.

Note: Although this is strictly not yield the amounts can be claimed as yield from the direct action arising within the case. The yield will be counted for both internal and external reporting purposes.
