Decision Makers Guide - DMG35114

Non-allowable business expenses: Expenses excluded by regulations: Business entertainment

The decision maker should not allow any expense incurred in providing business entertainment, for example business lunches or the firm's annual outing. For this purpose entertainment covers all forms of hospitality to clients, customers, or staff. It does not include expenses for entertainment that is provided as part of the business operation, for example a pub landlord's payments to a band or other entertainer.
