For deaths on or after 9.4.2001. Widow's Benefit will be
replaced with Bereavement Allowance and Widowed Mother's Allowance
with Widowed Parent's Allowance. The existing arrangements for
Widow's Benefit and Widowed Mother's Allowance will be retained for
deaths before 9.4.2001.
For awards starting on or after 10.4.2001, a £15
disregard will apply to Widowed Mother's Allowance and Widowed
Parent's Allowance in the calculation of income other tham
earnings.
