If none of the circumstances in DMG12071-DMG12092 apply, average
the hours over
1) the `five weeks` immediately before the week of
application 'or'
2) such other longer period before the week of application which enable the average weekly hours `to be determined more accurately`.
Example
In the eight weeks before the week of application a person had worked 40, 12, 15, 30, 10, 9, 15 and 13 hours respectively. No recognised cycle had been established at the date of application. The decision maker calculated the hours worked by reference to the average number of hours worked over the five weeks immediately before the week of application. The resulting figure was 15.4 (77 divided by 5). The decision maker decided that the person `was not in remunerative work`.
