Notional capital: actual and notional
A person may have actual and notional capital.
The decision maker should consider actual capital1 first.
If the applicant's actual capital
- exceeds the capital limit of £8,000 (WFTC)
or £16,000 (DPTC), the decision maker should refuse these tax
credits without deciding notional capital2
- is less than the capital limit, the decision
maker should then consider any notional capital.
