A contribution means any contribution in respect of the income of a student or of any other person (normally a parent or spouse) which a Minister of the Crown or an education authority takes into account in assessing the amount of a student's grant. The decision maker should treat such a contribution as a part of the grant income, whether or not it is actually paid.
