A course of advanced education is defined as a
full-time course
1) leading to a
first or postgraduate
1.1a degree or
1.1b qualification comparable to a degree
diploma of higher education
HND
HND or HNC of the
1.4a BTEC or
1.4b Scot VEC
teaching qualification or
2) which is above the standard of
2.1 an ordinary national diploma or
2.2 a national diploma of the BTEC or
2.3 a national certificate of the ScotVEC or
2.4 a GCE (advanced grade) or
2.5 a Scottish certificate of education (higher grade) or
2.6 a Scottish certificate of sixth year studies
