Decision Makers Guide - DMG37012

Using accounts: Determining the assessment period

Once the decision maker is satisfied that the accounts are acceptable (DMG37010) and satisfy all of the requirements (DMG37001 to 37009), the assessment period can be determined. The assessment period is the period of the accounts, i.e. the number of days in the period covered by the accounts.

Example

Accounts for the year ending 30.04.98, the assessment period is 365 days.

Accounts for the period 01.09.97 to 28.02.98, the assessment period is 181 days.

Accounts for the year ending 30.06.96, the assessment period is 366 days - 1996 was a leap year.
