Particular kinds of employment: LA councillors: Deciding the normal weekly earnings (DPTC)

In calculating a councillor's normal weekly earnings, the normal assessment periods (23021 1. and 2.) should be used only when the allowances are paid weekly or monthly. In cases other than monthly a longer period may need to be selected (23021 3.). If any period is disregarded, for example weeks in which no duties were undertaken, the guidance in DMG 23022 should be applied.
