ETU is a pilot scheme set up by the S of S for a period of three
years from 8.10.96 - 4.10.99 in certain areas of GB. However, some
people will be in receipt of ETU until 24.9.2001. The scheme
supplements the earnings of single people and married or unmarried
couples who are not responsible for a child or young person.
The applicant and/or partner
1) should be employed or S/E working 16 hours or more a week
and
2) live in one of the areas in GB which are covered by the
scheme.
