If the applicant is involved in a trade dispute (TD) at the
place of work, omit from the assessment period any pay period of
reduced earnings. The assessment period will begin one pay period
earlier for each pay period omitted.
Note A trade dispute is a dispute between employers and
employees, or among employees. It should be connected with the
employment, or non employment or the terms or conditions of
employment of any person, whether employed or not by the employer
with whom the dispute arises.
The applicant receives payment monthly, on the last working day of the month. Date of application 9.12.99. The applicant was on strike for a week during October 99 and received reduced salary for November 99. The assessment period is 5.8.99 - 4.11.99
The applicant receives payment weekly. Date of application is 15.12.99. The applicant was involved in a series of one-day strikes and the earnings for the period 31.10.99 - 20.11.99 were reduced by one day's pay in each of the pay periods ending 20.11.99 and 27.11.99. The decision maker omits those pay periods from the assessment period, which would then be 17.10.99 - 13.11.99 (four weeks) and 28.11.99 - 11.12.99 (two weeks)
