The assessment period depends on the applicant's pay period
unless the applicant is a director. If the pay period is
1) a week, the assessment period will be six consecutive
weeks up to and including
1.2) the week before the
week immediately preceding the week of application when the
decision maker has insufficient information to assess the persons
earnings as in
1.1 above

2) A fortnight, the assessment period will be
2.1) three consecutive fortnights immediately before the

2.2) in cases where the decision maker has insufficient
information to assess the earnings, three consecutive fortnights
ending with the fortnight before the week immediately before the
week of application
3) Four weeks, the assessment period will
be twelve consecutive weeks before the week of application
4) A month, the assessment period will be three consecutive
months before the week of application
5) Any period less than a month (other than those in
1 and
2), the assessment period will be six consecutive pay
periods immediately before the week of application
Any period longer than a month, the assessment period will be
a year ending immediately before the week of application
Note 1 A month means calendar month, for example:
18th November to 17th December
1st December
to 31st December 30th January to 28th February (29th in a leap
year)
Note 2 Treat people paid at recurring cycles of four, four
and five weeks or four, five and five weeks as monthly paid.
