Decision Makers Guide - DMG13051

Use of DSS records

If using evidence of disability from DSS records the decision maker should note that `disability` for benefits may not mean the same as `disability` does for DPTC.

Example

An IB claimant found to be fit for light work may well be entitled to DPTC. A claimant found fit for the normal occupation may still have disabilities that are a disadvantage in getting work, particularly where rehabilitation is involved.
