Meaning of a period of training for work

A period of training for work does not include days when the applicant was
1) on holiday
2) attending court as a JP, a party to any proceedings, a witness or a juror

3) suffering from some disease or disablement which means

that the applicant was unable to attend training for work, or that to do so would put the health of others at risk

4) unable to take part in training for work because

4.1) of looking after a child due to the usual person not being able to do so

4.2) of looking after a member of their family who was ill

4.3) a domestic emergency occurred which the applicant had to deal with

4.4) of arranging or attending the funeral of a partner or relative

Note for this purpose, `relative` means a close relative, grandparent, grandchild, uncle, aunt, nephew or niece.

5) authorised by the training provider to be absent from training for work.
