Free in-patient treatment: maintained free of charge

In any other circumstances the person is treated as maintained free of charge. For example when
1) a payment is made by the patient for an amenity bed but the treatment is provided under the NHS
2) a patient is in paid work outside the hospital during the day and pays an amount to the HA or HB (based on earnings) towards maintenance and incidental costs
3) a person is a patient in a nursing home being funded under arrangements made by the HA or HB.
