A child or young person should not be treated as a member of the
applicant's household if the child or young person
1) is a patient in a hospital or residential
accommodation
and
and
or
2) is placed with (or in Scotland, boarded out with) the applicant or partner before adoption
or
3) is placed with (or in Scotland, boarded out with) the applicant or partner under certain legislation, for example by an LA
or
4) has been placed for adoption after a decision by an adoption agency, but has not yet been formally adopted
or
5) is detained in custody following a sentence imposed by a court.
