The initial fee for starting an action in the county court varies according to the amount of the debt, as shown in the following table. The fees below apply from 4 April 2011.

Fee 8.9
The fee for the filing of proceedings under CPR70.5 is £40 (for example for the recovery of Child Benefit overpayments, National Minimum Wage penalties and WFTC/DPTC overpayments).
