DIPLOMATIC BAGS

This can consist of crates and/or containers but must be supported with documentation detailing the weight and dimensions of the cargo.

CONCESSION VEHICLE

Any mechanically propelled vehicle imported, acquired or purchased in the UK under diplomatic relief.

Does not include- boats or planes

CONTINUING PRIVILEGES

The duty and VAT free privileges available to diplomats throughout the duration of their appointment

EU The European Union.

FIRST ARRIVAL PRIVILEGES

The duty and VAT free privileges that may be available to the diplomats within the first six months from the date of taking up their appointment in the UK

INVIOLABILITY

Diplomatic bags, provided are clearly marked as such cannot be opened or detained.

MISSION

Any foreign embassy, commonwealth high commission, consular post or international organisation

NEW MEANS OF TRANSPORT

As per the definitions in VATNMT and Notice 728.

PREMISES OF THE MISSION

Any building, part of building or adjoining land recognised as for use by the mission.
