In many HMRC computer systems it is not possible to access a
record to view or update when another operator is using that
record.
The Student Loans Business Service (SLBS) does not have that
restriction. This means that if you have the appropriate user role
you can view a record although someone else is currently updating
that record. For example, with the SLBS View role you may use
Function P14 DETAIL to view a selected form P14 for the taxpayer,
although at that time a colleague, within your Organisation Unit or
elsewhere, is currently using Function REVIEW UNMATCHED P14, under
the SLBS Maintenance user role, to note that same form P14 as
‘Reviewed’.
