COM60020 - CT online services: CT online services overview: authorising an agent to act on behalf of the company

Using the HMRC Corporation Tax Online Service, registered companies can authorise an agent to act on their behalf in connection with their Corporation Tax affairs. To authorise an agent online the agent must have registered with our online services and provided the company with their Government Gateway Agent ID.

When the company enters these details on the ‘Authorise an agent’ screen and goes to the next screen, they will see the new agent’s name and address. When the company confirms the agent’s details, they receive a reference number for the transaction showing the date and time of the submission and a submission ID number. Any changes made may take up to 48 hours to be activated.

Companies experiencing any problems using this service should be directed to the Online Services Helpdesk on 0845 6055999.
