COM141020 - Work lists: features of work lists: deleting cases from a work list

Usually a case will remain on a work list until either

  • You take action to clear the case
Or
  • The circumstances of the case have changed and the case no longer needs to be reviewed

When either of these events happen, the computer automatically deletes the case from the work list.

The computer updates most work lists overnight, therefore the cases you clear on one day will stay on the work list until the following day. However, the computer updates some lists instantly so that the cases you clear disappear from the list once you complete your work on them.

Some work lists draw your attention to a condition that needs reviewing, but when reviewing the case, you will not necessarily need to

  • Use a COTAX function
Or
  • Take any particular action

This sort of entry cannot be automatically deleted from the list. Work lists like this have a [Delete] button at the foot of the screen. When you have completed your review of the case you must

  • Select the [Delete] button to delete the entry from the list

Occasionally, it may be necessary to put a [Delete] button on a work list that does not normally have one. We will tell you why we have done this and how long you can expect the button to be there.
