CM8.201 - CAROL - Collection Accounting for Receipts On- line: Allocation of passwords
The instructions at CS3/1995 set out general procedures for allocating passwords and, when necessary, changing them.
- `SENIOR USERS' PASSWORD
A special `Senior User' password is used in connection with
CAROL.
Senior Users must
- observe the instructions in the Departmental IT Security Manual
and
- allocate CAROL access level passwords for use as below.
- CAROL ACCESS LEVEL PASSWORDS
The Senior User, or the nominated badge holder, should
- allocate CAROL access level passwords to those officers who are to input data to the CAROL system.
One password should be allocated for each of the levels described in the following table.

IMPORTANT
ON NO ACCOUNT MUST A CAROL ACCESS LEVEL PASSWORD BE DIVULGED
TO AN OFFICER BELOW THE GRADE APPROPRIATE FOR ITS USE.
To allocate CAROL access level passwords the Senior User, or
nominated badge holder should
- enter OLDC and select SET UP NEW USER Function
- follow the screens to set up the OLDC users.
