TURNOVER TEST: INTRODUCTION
NOTE: This paragraph serves as an introductory overview of the
turnover test; for deeper coverage use the above links to
information or action guides.
This module on the turnover test for certificate applications
covers the application of the test, the use of the Turnover Test
Application (TTA), and surrounding issues.
Particular areas covered are
- applying the tests
- evidence checks for 6 month tests
- checks on the validity of figures supplied for the tests
- explanations of the tests and terms involved.
The test is designed to be an objective first line filter of
certificate applications and any failures are notified by a
standard letter issued from one of the two Accounts Offices at
Shipley and Cumbernauld.
Note that wholly owned subsidiaries of companies already
holding a CIS certificate are exempt from the turnover test.
Applications failing the turnover test need not be submitted
to the other certificate tests. This is the most straightforward
form of refusal.
