CFSP08100 - Customs Procedure Codes: general information

Each digit within the CPC has a particular significance which enables officers to identify the type of goods and their risk category, the type of release being requested and the procedure to which the goods are being removed.

06 10 040SDP - Release to free circulation (route 6)
06 10 061SDP - Release to a Customs procedure with economic impact (route 6)
06 11 000LCP - Release to National Transit (route 6)
06 11 001LCP - Release to Community Transit (route 6)

06 12 071SDP - Release to Types A, C, D & E warehousing (route 6)
06 14 078SDP - Release into Free Zone (route 6)

Unlike full frontier entries, CFSP entries are usually assigned a route 6 designation. No paperwork would normally be required for entries declared to the above CPCs unless a specific Post-Clearance Action (PCA) code is triggered.

06 20 040SDP - Controlled goods released to free circulation (route 1 or 2)
06 20 061SDP - Controlled goods released to a Customs procedure with economic impact (route 1 or 2)
06 22 071SDP - Controlled goods released to Types A, C, D & E warehousing (route 1 or 2)
06 24 078SDP - Controlled goods released into Free Zone (route 1 or 2)

Goods released using the controlled goods CPCs are subject to border admissibility controls. Hard copy SFDs and full supporting documentation must be presented for these goods. The goods must not be released until all frontier formalities have been completed. Please see CFSP03350 and CFSP10000 for further details.

06 30 040SDP – Controlled drugs released to free circulation (route 1 or 2)
06 30 061SDP – Controlled drugs goods released to a Customs procedure with economic impact (route 1 or 2)

06 34 078SDP – Controlled drugs goods released into Free Zone (route 1 or 2)

As these goods require Home Office licences these CPCs require a hard copy SFD and supporting documentation to be presented to Customs prior to gaining release of the goods.

06 40 040SDP - Excise goods released to free circulation (route 1 or 2)

In order to facilitate controls on the importation and movement of excise goods these goods require a hard copy SFD and supporting paperwork to be presented to Customs at the frontier prior to gaining release of the goods.

06 13 040LCP - Part removals from Temporary Storage (TS)

In order to facilitate the removal of part consignments from Temporary Storage, CFSP traders are required to enter this CPC on the supplementary declaration (SDI). See CFSP Information paper 48/07 and CFSP04250 for details.
