CCM8080 - Closing the Examination: No adjustment needed to the claim - Informing the claimant
You will need to send the claimant a letter informing him/her the examination is now complete and the outcome. You might already have discussed this during a telephone call or at a meeting but a written closure letter is still needed. Where the claim has been made by a couple in a joint household only one letter should be sent addressed to both claimants. When sending out joint letters the claimants must still be part of a couple and residing at the same address. If they are part of a couple but residing at different addresses or no longer part of a couple, then a separate letter must be sent to each claimant.
The text for your closure letter for:
- a pre-award examination is at CCM21100. You should only include the fourth paragraph if the claim was made by a couple and you should only include the third paragraph if the claimant(s) has given good co-operation
- a post-award examination is shown at CCM21230
- a post award examination including a processed CoC is shown at CCM21230
- a post award examination including an unprocessed CoC is shown at CCM21235.
