BIM61260 - Leasing: avoidance: assets other than land: rent in advance for more than one year

Where a payment is made for a period all or part of which falls more than one year after the payment is made, the payment, or the relevant part, is to be treated as made for a period of one year beginning with the date of payment. This provision prevents avoidance of ICTA88/S782 by expressing the rent under a lease as being paid for say ten years instead of in specified amounts year by year.
