BIM44115 - Specific deductions - employee share schemes: Contributions to QUESTs, a/c periods starting before 1 Jan 2003 - trustees’ certificate
When relief for a contribution has been allowed to a company, either as a deduction in computing trading profits or as an expense of management, it is a requirement of FA89/S73 (8) that the trustees to whom the contribution was made should be sent a certificate stating the amount for which relief has been allowed to the company. The trustees need this information to enable them to deal with any assessments for charges made under FA89/S68 and FA89/S71 (see BIM44125regarding recovery of relief).
The Employee Share Schemes Unit, Capital & Savings, Somerset House, will issue these certificates to the trustees, based on the information given under BIM44110. If, for any reason, relief is not given in accordance with this advice, a report should be made immediately to the Employee Share Schemes Unit.
