AH1645 - Special Commissioners: Appeals: Settlement by agreement

As soon as agreement with the appellant (or his agent) is reached or an appeal is withdrawn, in any case notified to the Special Commissioners on form 209B, the Clerk to the Special Commissioners must be informed immediately by telephone of the fact. Subsequently it must confirmed in writing that the appeal has been settled by agreement, or withdrawn, and that a hearing will not be necessary. If the appeal hearing is at a provincial centre or circuit, and the Special Commissioners are known to be there already their Clerk must be notified by telephone, or some other reliable means, at the place arranged for the hearing of the appeal. Again, formal confirmation of the fact by letter must follow.

As regards adjourned or postponed personal appeals where agreement is subsequently reached with the appellant, see AH1825.
