After consultation, during which they may ask the parties to
retire, the General Commissioners may announce their decision
orally through their Chairman. However, in more complicated cases,
the Commissioners often reserve their decision and communicate it
in writing to both parties in due course. If you consider the
decision to be erroneous in point of law, you should proceed in
accordance with AH1515.
The Special Commissioners will generally notify their
decision in writing sometime after the hearing. You should
immediately telephone the relevant specialist to discuss next
action and send a copy of the decision to the specialist (see
AH1865).
