RE1630 - Registered securities: general
The special arrangements are applied to income from certain
registered securities which is received under deduction of tax
by
- a society or fund of the kind mentioned in
RE1632, or
- an individual who is likely to have no
liability to tax in the future. The guidance at RE1622 and the
examples RE1623 will help you decide whether the annuitant is
likely to have to pay income tax. That guidance is specifically
about the form R89 but the same principles apply here when looking
at the claimant's income and allowances. If necessary get
confirmation that the claimant is unlikely to have to pay income
tax from their GCD.
- The securities to which the arrangements
apply are British Government and local authority stocks registered
at the Bank of England or the Bank of Ireland in Belfast.
