In Compliance Group the first progress review date for cases is
7 months from the date the file is created. FACET enter the first
review date on the file cover (
IHTM03000). The date is entered on ALF
(
IHTM03000) and unless the file becomes
an enquiry (
IHTM29000) (when different progress
review procedures (
IHTM32051) will apply) the case will,
at the relevant time, be shown on the list of cases for review.
Subsequent reviews will normally be at 6 monthly intervals
unless your manager, who carries out progress reviews on cases,
asks for the next review to be carried out at a shorter interval.
The manager is responsible for entering and initialling the second
and subsequent dates on the file cover. This too will be noted on
ALF by registry staff.
Progress reviews are meant to be thorough and constructive
and should look to end any areas of work that seem likely to be
unproductive. Where appropriate, managers should give guidance on
what steps need to be taken to bring the case to an early close.
You should follow any instructions you are given on the future
handling of the case.
Once a file is three years old the procedures for dealing
with older files (
IHTM32087) should be followed.
