IHTM39033 - Destruction of files: The MF file

If the original file has been destroyed and correspondence is received about the deceased it is dealt with at an MF file.

If you receive an MF file you should

  • treat it in all respects, as a proper file
  • not remove its contents
  • not file it inside other papers.

The procedures for converting and cancelling ( IHTM03252) an MF file are the same as for other death files.
