When reviewing over 3-year old cases you must complete form Cap 2, entitled ’Older cases review’. You should prepare the risk assessment calculation, summarise the present position and recommend action to progress the case. You should then refer the case to your manager who will either agree with your proposals or make other recommendations. Once any necessary action has been taken you should file the Cap 2 under the file cover. It should be retained there and updated until the file is `closed'. The manager will carefully consider the merit of regrading the case and only rarely should older files remain in a D allocation.
