IHTM31242 - Settlement cases: case structure

Settlement cases are organised into one or more accounts ( IHTM10601), which are numbered chronologically. The COMPASS record is however primarily designed for death cases, so the records are divided into Entries ( IHTM31011) rather than accounts.

The first Entry is always Entry B, normally the historic value of the settlement on the day it was created. Use Entries C to Z to enter each subsequent charge (one per Entry).

At the start of a new file you will often need to put information into Entry B and then create one or more further Entries for the charges you now need to assess.
