IHTM08054 - File movements:
allocating and reallocating cases
All cases received in TSB need to be allocated on the ALF (
IHTM03291). This is essential for
the
- ability to locate cases
- production of accurate management
information
Each day you will receive several files requiring allocation.
You should
In Nottingham only
- notify the TSB Manager or Divider of the
number of these cases received
- the TSB Manager will give direction on the
number of cases to be allocated to each team
- divide the files between the teams
according to this direction
In all offices
- allocate the files for each team on
ALF
- change the location of each file on ALF to
the team location, for example TSB3W where the new team is
TSB3
- deliver the files to the new team
ALF
The ALF computer system is used to identify which person or team
is currently responsible for each file. Files are given allocation
codes according to the type of case
- death files are allocated to the
‘X’ allocation for that team
- non-death files are allocated to the
‘Y’ allocation for that team
You should only re-allocate a file if it is to be permanently
worked in another team or another part of the office.
