IHTM08022 - Allocation of new cases: how is the work allocated?

Work is allocated to TSB through the Risk Assessment Process ( IHTM07100). This identifies work appropriate for TSB and identifies the staff grade at which the work is to be done.

The work is then sent to the TSB Divider, who divides the work up amongst the teams in that location. The cases are re-allocated on ALF ( IHTM03291) and COMPASS ( IHTM31101), by the Registry, to the relevant team. Where there is only one team the work goes to the team leader. Within each team the work is then sifted into two categories

  • those that can be dealt with immediately
  • those that cannot be dealt with immediately

Any work that can be dealt with immediately is dealt with by the sifter. The rest is placed into the “Day Rack” to be dealt with in date order.
