The views from HM Revenue & Customs (HMRC) customers, MPs, MLAs, Equality organisations, staff and unions in respect of the EQIA on Belfast urban centre proposals are published today.
In accordance with Section 75 of the NI Act 1998 HMRC invited the public to comment on these proposals with regard to the potential impact on diverse groups within its workforce, customer base and the local community.
The 10 week consultation period ended on 27 November 2007. A total of 51 responses were received conveying the views of 449 people.
The Department will continue to seek guidance and take advice on the EQIA process from the Equality Commission for Northern Ireland.
It is expected that decisions on the Belfast urban centre proposals will be published in Spring 2008. A full official response to the EQIA consultation will also be published around this time.
