2006 Review of Links with Large

Review of Consultative Forums
Improving communication between HMRC and large business and ensuring that the business perspective is better taken into account to inform HMRC decisions will be a key feature of this review. There is therefore a close connection with the Large Business & Employers Customer Unit (“LB&ECU”) Review of Consultative Forums (previously known as Review of Strategic Links with Large Business).
Paul Smyth of LB&ECU managed the Review of Consultative Forums and is leading on the implementation of the recommendations from this review. He is also a member of the core review team for this Review of Links. As such he will be responsible for ensuring that the outcomes of the Review of Consultative Forum are fed into and run smoothly in parallel to this Review of Links.
In particular the outcomes of the Review of Forum recommended:
• each forum undertake a detailed review of their activities, membership
and terms of reference by 30 June 2006;
• following this review a ‘structure’ be put in place to
enable clearer communication of the issues amongst the forums; and
• the HMRC internet be updated to allow for easier identification of
relevant forums by businesses and to encourage participation in such forums.
