I’ve worked at HMRC for just over a year as a senior IT specialist. My job title is Head of Infrastructure Architecture and Strategy. Before this, I was in a senior IT role with the Rover Group. My role here is similar to what I’d done before, but on a much wider scale. HMRC is involved in a more serious technological change programme and it is rewarding to be involved in that at a fairly early stage.

I spoke to some key individuals here before accepting the role and, so far, my experience of working here has met the positive expectations I’d built up. People here are very receptive to change. I would say if you're thinking of applying to HMRC in a role like mine, that it’s a unique opportunity for someone who wants to be challenged and has the ability to see a wider picture of organisational change.
