Commonwealth Association of Tax Administrators - training courses

Each year HM Revenue & Customs runs two training courses in the UK for the Commonwealth Association of Tax Administrators (CATA) (Opens new window). The courses are open to officials of member administrations.

The courses are residential in the UK during July, August and September with an introductory period of distance learning over the internet starting in May and continuing after the residential event until the end of the year.

Achieving Management Potential is designed to help the senior tax official achieve his or her full potential as a manager and leader.

The Commonwealth Tax Inspectors Course is designed to give a rigorous introduction to the main issues in contemporary tax compliance work. It is aimed at audit/compliance professionals and trainers who will benefit from exposure to the UK's approach to compliance work.

Please read the course brochure in the link below for additional information and to ensure that you are applying for the most relevant course.

Funding will need to be secured from your home administration (i.e. Ministry of Finance) to participate in any of these courses and confirmation of this will be required for your application to be considered. Unfortunately neither HMRC nor CATA can provide funding.

If you would like to be considered for a place on one of these courses please provide the information requested in the table below to me either by e-mail: daniel.pedley@hmrc.gsi.gov.uk (please note this e-mail address must only be used for applying for one of these CATA courses. Other general enquiry e-mails will not be responded to and please refer to the relevant contact details on the HMRC website) or by post to the following address:
