Paying by Post

Please do not send cash through the post

Detach the payslip and send it with your cheque to the Accounts Office, Shipley. Please do not fold the payslip or cheque and do not fasten them with paper clips or staples or in any other manner.

Note: For payments of PAYE, from 2008/09 we have removed the separate PAYE and NIC amount boxes from the payslip. You only need to enter the total ‘Amount due’ that you are paying.

In the interests of security please make your cheque

  • payable to "HM Revenue & Customs Only", and
  • write your payslip reference after "HM Revenue & Customs Only"

To allow for possible postal delays (for which we are not responsible) we advise you to allow at least 3 working days for the payment to reach us.

For interest purposes we will treat your payment as being received on the day we receive your cheque. Where we receive the cheque on a day that the office is closed the date used will be the day the office was first closed. For example, when we receive a cheque on a Monday we will treat it as having been received on the Saturday before.
