TCM1000266 - How to check if the Child Benefit claim indicator has been set

Access Child Benefit Service desktop icon

  • enter the customer’s NINO in the upper navigation bar and select ‘search’
  • check the customer’s name and address in the top left hand corner of the screen to ensure you select the correct customer details
  • check ‘account status’ in the tp left hand corner of the screen
    • if the status is shown as ‘Claim’ this is the first child the customer has claimed for
    • if the status is shown as ‘Live’ this means there is more than one child on the account
