Taking telephone calls and helping customers with their queries, our Customer Service people are ready for anything. As often the first point of contact for customers, they take all kinds of calls covering every possible subject. Taxes and benefits related, of course. And there's definitely no sales targets or selling.
Our people are based across 17 contact centres around the country and offer advice and help to an astonishing 140 million callers a year. Providing exceptional customer service on this scale is a big ask, but one we rise to by staying open from 8.00 am to 8.00 pm Monday to Friday and 8.00am to 4.00pm on Saturday.
So, if you can be helpful and patient, and explain complicated things in simple terms, we'll ensure you've got everything else you need to do a great job.
That support begins with between 4 and 12 weeks of training depending on which type of work you are allocated to and continues when you begin taking calls with a comprehensive support system - there's always someone on hand to help. Further back-up and information are always on tap via your computer and a range of guidance material.
The long opening hours don't mean long working hours. Conversely, they mean a wide variety of shift patterns and so a choice of working hours that fit all kinds of lifestyles, whether you're a student or parent, for example.
