Student Awards Agency Scotland fraud pilot with HMRC 2022

This Data Usage Agreement for the fraud pilot between HMRC and the Student Awards Agency Scotland was agreed and put in place in 2022.

Details

This agreement is published as part of the Code of Practice for public authorities disclosing information under chapters 1, 3 and 4 (Public Service Delivery, Debt and Fraud) of part 5 of the Digital Economy Act 2017.

The purpose of this pilot is to identify and investigate whether there is suspected fraud in Student Awards Agency Scotland (SAAS) applications.

Sharing this data will allow SAAS to determine the level of fraud in student applications, early detection of fraud, financial savings and protection of public funds.
